JAi's Mission

About the Project

The Justice Access Initiative (JAi) exists to bridge the gap in legal representation by expanding access to affordable legal resources, support, and opportunities for marginalized consumers, organizations, and legal professionals. JAi's work is rooted in a commitment to equity, with particular attention to the experiences of Black communities and others who face systemic barriers based on race, class, gender identity, age, disability, and other intersecting factors.

Through technology, community engagement, and strategic partnerships, JAi works to protect economic stability, defend consumer and housing rights, and dismantle structural barriers within the legal system. The JAi initiative recognizes that injustice is often layered and interconnected, and strives to initially center those most impacted.
By supporting communities, uplifting underrepresented legal talent, and re-imagining access to justice, we work to build a legal system that accurately reflects and responds to the needs of all Californians, with a focus on those who have long been excluded.
JAi uses AI technology ethically and intentionally, leveraging real-time data and insights to inform decision-making, drive accountability, and measure impact in the communities it serves.
